Time Sensitive - I need your Support


Family, Friends and Supporters,
After 5 years of my seclusion, moves, working on my health, personal problems and financial struggles I have to regain the lost Carmen in me. As the majority of you knows that I don't easily give up in my life struggles. I am again finally back to what I do best, VOLUNTEERING.
For the past year I slowly got back standing on solid ground and started volunteering in my local library in Groveland California. Here I am again doing constructive things to keep up with my skills while I am searching for work in competition with 14 % of unemployed in the State of California.
As the volunteer coordinator of the Summer Reading Program and my true dedication in Literacy and mentoring I became more aware of teachers losing their jobs and not only the school programs being cut but also schools being closed in the neighboring towns. The voice of our children can not be heard, their future turning dimmer and the only alternative is to give or create more programs in our library. Because of this present educational situation the Friends of the Library is taking the advantage of asking donations thru our Honorary Mayor of Groveland Candidacy which I am representing as "Groveland Rose".

We have lived our lives, we have seen the world, we had our moments, but our youth and our future of tomorrow where are they heading to?

Your donation of $5.00 will give me 5 votes. Our 49er festival held on Saturday Sept 17th 2011. The more donation you give, the more votes I get. For Honorary Mayor of Groveland

I am the only candidate running for Mayor who is a true citizen of Groveland. I was born at 11878 Ponderosa Lane now a historical building. I claim my 49er’s heritage as the daughter of "Joy" and an unknown father, a grubstaker.



 
My active participation in the Friends of Groveland Library organization will serve the community well. I will be able to act as an advocate to continue our services to our diverse citizens of Groveland of all ages, genders, rich and poor, and to our tourists who access our free WIFI. To add, not only that we involve human beings, but we also have man’s best friends in our Dog therapy reading sessions.
I will devote, time, energy- whatever it takes to – make this continue.

My goals are to provide free laptop to everyone, an addition of three more floors to the library to increase 75% staffing and to achieve zero illiteracy in Groveland. If voted as Mayor I will make sure that the tourism revenue will increase under my term!
